Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?

my key fob seens to have have reset it self dose any one know how to fix it. it is a renault clioHi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
If you handled the battery (looks like a 10p coin or a quarter - 25c coin) with your bare fingers, chances are you have discharged the battery and you'll have to buy a new one.

Use a folded tissue to handle the battery as you put it in the fob.

You may also want to take the battery out and press the lock and unlock buttons several times to fully discharge any remaining charge in the keyfob. This can upset the code sending to unlock the car.

Carefully put in the new battery and press the lock and unlock buttons each for 5 to 10 seconds with a gap of ten seconds between each try. This should give the locking system a chance to pick up the code again. You 'll know this is working when the car locks and then unlocks as you press the buttons.

The only time you need to go to your dealer is if the keyfob is faulty and has to be replaced. They take a blank keyfob and using your car details, they program the blank with your code.

Good Luck.Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
You may have lost the code in memory for your vehicle. You may need to take it to a dealer that can re-program it for you.Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
If it is like Vauxhauls- Try putting the Key in the ignition and turning it so the lights come on. Then press and hold the lock button for a few seconds and release. If you keep the drivers door open usually the knobs go down and come up again. The key should now have re-synchronised. I do not know if it applies to Renault but it is worth a tryHi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
hi have you tried turning thebattery over or around which ever .Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
maybe former battery had leakage. check contacts. if greenish , use wd40 or contact sprayHi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
Make sure you have the battery the right way in the fob. Normally the positive side should be uppermost. If it's already with the positive on top try turning it over (but I've never seen one with the negative on top) if it still doesn't work get the battery checked...it may be a dud. My guess is that a renault dealer/ workshop would check such a minor thing quickly and for nothing. Give it a go!Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
The key will require reprogramming using your other key and the car ignition (usually) You car manual will tell you how. If not then expect a bill from your local dealer.Hi i have change the battery in my key fob and now it dose not work?
i am almost sure you have to go to main dealer to have it reset.
