Remove the L %26amp; R side covers.
Remove the (-) cable from the battery.
Remove the (+) cable from the starter solenoid (L side cover).
Remove the battery cover (it might give you more room to work with, if you unplug the fuse box from the main wire harness).

Remove both side covers.
Pull the solenoid off the mount (its held on with a rubber mounting device that fits on two prongs).
Remove two bolts on the right side that hold the battery cover (10 mm socket/ philips screwdriver). Remove the cover.
Push the battery to access and release the negative battery cable on the left side of the bike.
Push it back and release the positive cable.

There should be a bolt at the back end of the seat, undo %26amp; slide back the seat to get access to the battery then there are two more screws to remove before you can remove the battery.
