How long would it take for an amateur to change the battery of an ipod?

I've never changed the battery before. I hear it can be quite complicated. Is it just best to pay to have someone else change the battery for you?How long would it take for an amateur to change the battery of an ipod?

Absolutely do not do it yourself. First, the case itself is difficult, if not impossible to remove without destroying it if you don't have the right tools. Second, the battery is attached directly to the iPod itself, so you'd have to be a master solder to get it right. Finally, it totally voids the warranty. And surely do not buy a kit off of the internet. More than likely, they're cheap scams or whatnot.

Your best bet is to send it in or just outright buy a new one.
